Trafford Bretherton – Learner of the Month for May 2016

We are delighted to announce that this months Learner of the Month award goes to Trafford Bretherton.

Trafford is part of a cohort of Apprentices on the Health Informatics Apprenticeship currently running throughout the North West.

He was nominated by his manager, Matthew Fife – ICT Support Services and Telecommunications Manager at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. Matthew commented ‘Trafford is a striving young adult in the world of the ever-changing ICT. He gives 110% in everything he does, with great feedback from other line managers within the department and also from our customers.

Trafford has been working within various departments within our ICT structure, including, Service desk, Desktop support, Networks, Back Office, Registration Authority and our Developments team. He has taken to it all like the proverbial duck to water. I have had staff from within these teams also come to me and give excellent feedback about Trafford’s dedication, maturity and great work ethics. A pleasure to have such a well-rounded individual for our first apprenticeship.

Matthew Fife – ICT Support Services and Telecommunications Manager

I have been co-ordinating Trafford’s placement on behalf of the Trust and the ISD Network.  Trafford has spent the last 6 months working with the various ICT teams, from the IT Support Service  to the IT Back office team, enabling him to gain a realistic understanding of the health informatics directorate of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.  During his placement Trafford has spent 2 weeks within HI Education & Training and on behalf of the team I  want to say how impressed we are with Trafford’s work ethic and behaviour whilst working with the team.  He fitted in really well and he was so quick to learn and willing to take on any task or challenge.  He has helped the training team produce some e-elearning quizzes and had an opportunity to develop some elearning working alongside one of the IT Trainers.

Ann-Marie Kitt – Health Informatics Education & Development Manager

Well done to Trafford – he receives a £50 voucher and certificate.
