Brief Description:

Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a Junior Software Developer with a bespoke software development company based in Dronfield.

Job description:

We are looking for a passionate coder with some working knowledge of an existing programme language preferably in C#, Java, Objective-C or other programme languages but this is not essential as training will be given. As well as a person who thrives on being challenged.

You must have the ability to write code and have an understanding of algorithms/data structure, have a passion for software development, committed to build quality into products, have a positive and constructive approach and an enthusiasm to learn and a willingness to go the extra mile.  A team player with the ability to work on their own initiative.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Producing quality code by following our internal guidelines and innovative approach to software
  • Be able to follow instructions/templates given by senior members of the development team


  • Must have a GCSE grade B in Maths
  • Must have a GCSE grade C or above in any science
  • Computer Science would be a an advantage

  • Some knowledge in any language (other than scratch)
  • Demonstration of any coding undertaken

Training to be provided:

The Estio Training programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive six weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated Skills Development Coach who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

This apprenticeship will give you a Level 3 Software Development Technician Standard with training in areas such as:

  • Functional skills, Maths L2 and English L2
  • Software Development Fundamentals
  • Software Development Context and Methodologies (Two Parts)
  • Programming


Some of these modules will include an option to take an examination in order to receive a professional certificate.
