Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a Junior Software Developer with Cloud Orca Limited, a technology company based in London, UK.

Job description:

As our company is customer-oriented, an element of interaction with clients will be involved in the role. Our clients will make development requests ranging from small, of which are handled by our service desk, to large, which are passed over to our projects team to become full statements of work. You will be required to handle requests by providing the customers with the best possible solutions to their requirements. This will be achieved by gathering further information based on the request (that may involve calls, emails and/or online screen shares), an element of administration work will also be involved as you capture the information into documents (Solution Summary, Project Control and Time Estimate sheets) and log time for each task.

  • Logging tasks
  • To assist in managing all IT Administration

Requirements:

This role will require a keen junior developer who has an interest in gathering technical requirements, developing in Salesforce, writing code in many different programming languages, who will also be adaptable, focused and have a willingness to learn.

The ideal candidate will have good organisation and time management skills. As a company of professionals – there will be an element of managing your own workload productively.

Knowledge of all or a combination of the following programming/scripting languages will be beneficial, although not essential as training will be provided:

  • HTML & CSS
  • MS Excel
  • JavaScript
  • SQL
  • js
  • Apex

Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Training to be provided:

The Estio Training programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive six weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated Skills Development Coach who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

This apprenticeship will give you a Level 3 Software Development Technician Standard with training in areas such as:

  • Functional skills, Maths L2 and English L2
  • Software Development Fundamentals
  • Software Development Context and Methodologies (Two Parts)
  • Programming

Some of these modules will include an option to take an examination in order to receive a professional certificate.
