Estio has an exciting opportunity for 80 school leavers across the North West to join the NHS on a 2 year Business Support Apprenticeship commencing in October 2017. This Apprenticeship is ideal for school leavers who want to acquire business skills, earn while they learn, and develop skills that will be fundamental for building a successful career within the NHS.

This Apprenticeship gives you…

• Paid full-time employment for 2 years
• Minimum wage of £6,881 in the first year, increasing to £7,500 in the second year.
• 27 days holiday PLUS Bank Holidays
• Comprehensive training program provided by Estio Training
• Recognised qualifications including City & Guilds and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
• Practical work based learning combined with study
• Skills development to assist NHS career development

Application process

Stage 1 : Send us your CV and we will arrange a telephone interview. Estio provides individual support, advice and guidance to prepare you
Stage 2 : Attend a one day Assessment Centre in June or July 2017, involving group activities, assessment and interview
Stage 3 : Complete a Work Preparation Programme involving employability skills training and two week's work experience in a health organisation during September 2017. Attend a review and formal job interview at the end of the work experience placement
Stage 4: Begin your apprenticeship! Due to start October 2017

This Apprenticeship is delivered in conjunction with the NW Skills Development Network.

Apprentices will be employed on a full time, fixed-term contract attending training in Blackburn, Liverpool or Manchester which will depend on an apprentice’s home/work address. During the first year training will be day release whereas in the second year it will be either day or block release depending on the programme of study being undertaken.

You will gain skills in the following areas:

• Principles of Procurement & Supply
• Implementation of Procurement & Supply in Business
• Using the Internet
• Using Email
• Personal Information Management Software
• Database Software
• Presentation Software
• Spreadsheet Software
• Word Processing Software
• Bookkeeping Processes & Principles
• Financial Record Keeping

Year One

The first year of the apprenticeship will be a Level 2 IT Application Specialist Apprentice. This essentially means that you will be learning:

• Bookkeeping
• Accounting
• Procurement

Alongside high-end IT user skills including Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) qualifications in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Year Two

You will then move on to undertake a Level 3 Apprenticeship which is relevant to your chosen area of work, selecting from:

• Accounting
• Business Support
• Clinical Coding
• IT
• Data & Information
• Information Governance
• Libraries
• Procurement
• Project Support
• Training Support

In this year you will receive relevant industry recognised qualifications.
